Problems Compiling on Centos 6

Post by cmendonis » Fri 21 Apr 2017, 14:19

I have a problem compiling OpenEMS on Centos6,
When i run

Code: Select all

./update_openEMS.sh ~/opt/openEMS --with-hyp2mat --with-CTB
I get this log file, (attached)

And when I build fparser and CSXCAD individually and try to compile openEMS alone i get this output (Also attached).

any idea of what could be the problem?

I compiled VTK6.3 with qt support, and it doesn't recognize it even if I set VTK_DIR.

Hi,

I think I tried Centos 6 in the past and as I recalled it worked. Doesn't Centos 6 come with vtk5.x? That should be fine and might be a better choice?

Where did you install vtk 6? If you have installed it into a "normal" path (e.g. /usr/local) cmake should find it.
Otherwise you should edit the build script (update_openEMS.sh) and add the -DVTK_DIR= ...

If you try to compile openEMS, you must specify the path to CSXCAD that did not happen in your second log file. Again look how this is done in the update_openEMS.sh script...

Maybe if I find some time, I will try CentOS 6 in a VM myself.

I actually tried without compiling VTK myself, but the FindVTK.cmake was failing everytime and i can't find where vtk 5.8 is installed in this system. I installed VTK at a different directory (not a normal path) and i pointed to it from the cmake command in update_openEMS.sh and the script just says "manually defined variables were not used VTK_DIR".

Does the cmake version matter?

Yes it might. But I'm not sure.

I figured out some things (turned out to be some dependency problems), the compile proceeds, up until to the point that it gets stuck after building libnf2ff.
Please check the attached log.

-- Could NOT find Boost
Well that is the cause... But I'm really not sure why cmake not already quit there. I guess it was not set to required as it should be...
