function that restores structures from the xml-file

Post by rml » Tue 08 Sep 2020, 22:09

Dear all,
I am just wondering if there is a function that restores structures like FDTD, CSX, mesh, port and nf2ff from the xml-file. This would be a kind of counterpart to 'WriteOpenEMS' and very useful for a later post-processing. If the simulation folders still exist, you don't want to have to calculate for hours again.
Best regards,

Hi,

the python interface can do this. It has a read functionality too.
But, I have never needed this since I usually only ever added a post_proc_only flag and just reran the entrie matlab/octave script just without deleting any data and without running the solver. This would only do the post-processing as if it had just run normally...

The Helical Antenna Tutorial for example is showing this.

best regards
Thorsten
