Evaluating openEMS

Post by dlharmon » Sun 17 Feb 2013, 01:59

I have been using openEMS for a few weeks now and am quite impressed. It compares favorably with a few commercial solvers I considered. I ran a number of test simulations with closed form solutions (coax, stripline, etc) and the results are close.

Thank you for developing this.

Hi Darrell,

thanks for the feedback.

Maybe you want to consider sharing your simulations comparing to the analytic results? It is always good to have something for testing and validating...

I didn't do anything formal, but started with a transmission line through a box for all of my simulations. I continued to add the rest of my structure one that was done, so I don't have any files. I will be building a few of the structures and will share the model and S-parameters from the VNA with you.
