Unstable how? The fields around the source port, the voltage and current files, all look stable when the NaN appears. If there is instability causing the NaN, I'm not seeing it. Sigmoid is "band limited" compared compared to the heaviside step. Probably a tad more than using an exponential step a la...

Well,

Adding a slow sigmoid decay works, but I'd still love to understand why this issue was happening in the first place.
