Re: Accelerate initialization of many excitations

Here an example of a slow initialization with 400 Custom excitation objects:
lightningChannel_400_sources.xml

... it takes about 8-9 minutes on my laptop.

Accelerate initialization of many excitations

Hello Thorsten, another excitation-related question: How are excitations loaded / introduced into the FDTD domain? I find all the sources located in the .xml file that are then supposedly read again for initialization of the simulation. I need up to several hundred stacked excitations with time dela...

Excitation function from file or interpolated function

Hello Thorsten, a functionality that reads arbitrary excitation waveforms from a file would be nice / advantageous, because sometimes it is almost impossible to come up with approximations that could be described as polynomials (which would be converted to the string in Octave), if for example real,...

Re: Electromagnetic Fields of Geophysics

Hi, Another problem,. For example, I want to define a rectangular wire frame by using AddCurvePort(...), what's the meaning of the parameter 'start' and 'end '? How to assign them to form a rectangular wire frame? Maybe calling it a line port would be more precise. This port is just a line, ...

Re: Installing openEMS on Ubuntu 16.04 of an AWS cloud instance possible?

Hi Thorsten, late answer, time flies! :D Many thanks for your reply and infos - I got it running now on an Ubuntu 18.04 instance and also got the Python interface working. I will soon start testing it for my needs. I will eventually come up with some questions, respectively a performance comparison ...

Installing openEMS on Ubuntu 16.04 of an AWS cloud instance possible?

Hello, I am new to openEMS. So far I have been using MEEP for simulations of electromagnetic field propagation caused by lightning strikes over various terrain. I see a lot of potential in openEMS where it can beat MEEP with respect to the stuff that I do / need. I have somehow been dependent on clo...
