That sounds exactly like what's happening. Thank you, I'll look into the usage to see how its done. I'll post it as a tutorial once I get it to work. Thanks, Thorsten.

Monopole on an "Infinite" Ground-plane issue
I am trying to simulate a simple monopole antenna on an infinite ground-plane. The negative z boundary is set to PEC with all other boundaries set to PML_8. A lumped port is put between the z=0 plane (plane of the PEC ground plane) and the bottom of the monopole. The S-parameters look fine and compa...

Re: Primitive Translation and Detect Edges Function
I've not come across this yet but could it be something to do with the model and translation units?

Re: Non-parallel geometries not converging
As I understand it, ports need to be defined as inline with the coordinate system/mesh. So there needs to be a parallel section of transmission line or waveguide between the port's start and stop coordinates. Hope that helps.

Re: Thirds Rule (FDTD Mesh Grid)
Thanks Thorsten, Yes that makes sense. I'm working towards some coupled line couplers. The two varieties im considering are stepped line and the other is a continuously tapering line. So based on your explaination I would use the thirds rule for the stepped line coupler, where the lines are rectangu...

Re: Thirds Rule (FDTD Mesh Grid)
Does anyone know if there is a disadvantage to use the thirds rule in addition to the mesh lines lying on the edges? Is the accuracy degraded if this is done?

Re: CSRR on patch antenna
Did you manage to get it to work properly? I've not had any luck yet despite checking the port and priorities of the physical elements.

Re: Parabolic Reflector Antenna Tutorial/Example
I have updated the files in the zipped folder, the far field files are more manageable. I used the 'OptResolution' option to achieve this using "max_res*2". The total size of 'tmp' is now 2.75 Gb.
By using "max_res*4", the 'tmp' folder will be around 815 Mb.

Re: Parabolic Reflector Antenna Tutorial/Example
The plotFFcocx.m file is included in the Windows download, perhaps its missing in the Linux package? It was originally posted by Bruce Veidt on the forum. I have included it in the zipped file for users who are missing it. This file should be copied to the openEMS/matlab folder. It's a modification ...
