Double Ridge Waveguide
To simulate a length of double ridge waveguide to investigate the cutoff frequency from the S-parameters, would a finite thickness rectangular box have to be created with an air box inside (to represent the air space) with metal ridges? Or rather simply add the ridges to the waveguide tutorial? I as...

Re: optimizatio
Hi there, I am using a python module called Blackbox to perform optimization. OpenEMS is called via oct2py, and Dask.distributed is used to manage multiprocessing across a cluster of computers. It works well, but it would be nice if it could fetch statically linked Octave and OpenEMS binaries so th...

Is there a Ludwig3 equivalent function
Does anyone know how to plot the farfield patterns of an antenna using Ludwig-3 coordinates? I did a search but found nothing? Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Re: Problem with Parallel Plate Waveguide
Thanks for the CAD import tips. In the meantime I have had no luck with the parallel plate simulation. I notice that the messages are different to that of the example. This is what I get.. Create FDTD operator (compressed SSE + multi-threading) Create a steady state detection using a period of 1e-00...

Re: Problem with Parallel Plate Waveguide
Thanks Bob, I was expecting to see the excitation at the end of the parallel plate region, I thought it was at the end of the volume, so to speak. I hope I get used to this and learn to 'drive' the software correctly. I have yet to check the results with Paraview. Another question, is there a way to...

Re: Problem with Parallel Plate Waveguide
Thanks Thorsten,
I will look into it further. Is the image from csxcad what you would expect? I was expecting to see two planes.

Problem with Parallel Plate Waveguide
I'm using the current openEMS 64 bit on Win 7, Octave 4.0.0, and Paraview 4.4.0 When I run the tutorial file and open the Et_.vtr file in Paraview and follow the instructions, I get a rectangular view that is just blue, I assume it shows zero magnitude. In Octave I see this message, warning: Syntax ...

Re: Problems installing on Win7, using Octave
Hi Bob,
That fixed it! Thank you. Perhaps it should be corrected on the installation page. I'm new to using all of the associated programs so I'll probably have more questions as I get into the nittygritty of using the software.
Many Thanks!

Problems installing on Win7, using Octave
Hello, this is my first post here. I installed Octave (4.0.0) and openEMS (current .exe for windows) in the default directory on the root of C drive of a Windows 7 installation. I added this line to the two files specified in Octave: addPath("c:/openEMS/matlab/"); The line was added to the bottom of...
