Re: What the reason when I run MRI_Loop_Coil.m?

You will need the human body models to run this simulation.
But openEMS cannot include them, if you have no access to them, you cannot run this simulation
Read more here: https://openems.de/index.php/Tutorial:_ ... _Coil.html
Including alternatives to the human body models.

Re: Properly meshing a port

The excitation, (data) probes and such are always snapped to the nearest mesh lines in any case. Therefore it is better to align your mesh with your structures in the first place, otherwise the excitation and such may end up in locations you did not plan them to be. Therefore, place mesh lines at th...

Re: Resume simulation from previous data

No it is not. During simulation 99% of the data is only temporary and is not saved. Thus resuming is not really feasible.

Re: Simulating objects in FarField of Antenna

A lot of details here are unclear or make little sense to me. First of the far field of an antenna is hard to define exactly but in this case it should be well below one lambda (not 8 or something). The question is what you want to do here? Why do you want to place a lens this far away? Usually a le...

Re: material density

This property does not affect the EM simulation at all.
It is only required for SAR post-processing.
The unit is of course kg/m³. E.g. ~1000 for water.

Re: function that restores structures from the xml-file

Hi, the python interface can do this. It has a read functionality too. But , I have never needed this since I usually only ever added a post_proc_only flag and just reran the entrie matlab/octave script just without deleting any data and without running the solver. This would only do the post-proces...

Re: No output when running simulation

I think this is how it should be in "matlab/private/invole_openEMS.m" Lines 47-end:

Code: Select all

exitcode = system(command);
if (exitcode~=0);
    error(['openEMS binary exited with error-code ' num2str(exitcode)]);
end
This works for me, can you verify...

Re: No output when running simulation

The cause is this change:
https://github.com/thliebig/openEMS/com ... 6b9a7d17fc

I think we have to revert it...
Thanks for the feedback.

Re: High level FDTD question

Hi Dom, I'm sure I have answered this before but I cannot find it ;) The displayed energy is only a rough/ fast estimate. It for example completely neglects the material distribution (aka assumes everything to be vacuum or metal). During the excitation the energy in-flow is not constant and some dec...
