Re: error: load: unable to find file tmp/port_ut1A

Well openEMS did not run proper. I recommend you install the latest version from source.
I really need to get another release done...

Re: Ubuntu --no-simulation option in RunOpenEMS does not work

Well it works, but openEMS just returns an exit code "1" in this case. I guess Octave thinks of this as an error...
But at the same time this is not too bad as continuing with the script without results may not be very useful?

Re: Helix monopole Antenna

Hi, your mesh is completely not okay for the antenna. The simulation domain is way to large (unnecessary), and your helix only covers exactly two lines per width, thus making it more a brick than a coil. I did not check in height direction but I think it was similar. Have a closer look at the mesh i...

Re: Mesh & Questions

Hi, well meshing is always the most important and in many cases the most difficult to get right. But if you understand the ideas behind it, it is not that hard. You just can e.g. manually define mesh lines in all directions. For a very thin dipole a single line through the length and lines at the en...

Re: How to understand the asymmetry of B1 on XY plane in Tutorial: MRI Loop Coil

Hi,

I agree it should not be asymmetric. You used an unmodified Tutorial?
If I find the time I will have a closer look. Let me know if you have learned anything new in the meantime.

Re: Use touchstone file in simulation

Thats not possible directly in an FDTD simulation.

What you can do is create a multi-port simulation and combine everything inside a circuit simulator. I think there is even a tutorial or example for this.

Hi,

no, openEMS currently does not have any roughness model.

Re: Compilation flow for debug and development

Hi, sorry I missed this question. Yes what I do for development I run every part manually. For that you can create a file called "localConfig.cmake" which gets loaded by the "normal" cmake file to make local changes that also do not git tracked. In my localConfig.cmake for CSXCAD is the following (f...

Re: Using material for wideband simulation

I think there were some matlab script to fit a curve to a Drude/Lorentz model but I'm not sure. In any case this is not an easy task. Ideally you create an ideal transmission line where you know what the result should look like to... But to be honest, usually this is not really necessary. It is my e...

Re: (Newbee) Magnetic field between coils

Doing real coils with FDTD usually is not a good idea, but it depends on the design of the coils and the frequency of interest. In any case I always recommend to use a Gaussian pulse and not a sinusoidal excitation, even if you are only interested in a single frequency... As far as feeding goes, you...
