When you setup your mesh, do you have mesh lines on the edge of the metal strip or are you following the 1/3 2/3 rule? Im not sure if this helps but if your track geometry is known and you store it in a variable, you can use that variable in the mesh definition and port definition that comes after the mesh and geometry setup. That way the port length should always correspond to the height of your track.

I repeated the simulation with the full mesh and made sure that all planes for the nf2ff box are included (set to 1) with all boundaries set to PML_8. I left the CalcNF2FF symmetry plane on normal to the x axis with 'Mirror', {0, 'PEC', 0}. Just one symmetey plane for now. This time the patterns loo...

Thanks for looking into it. I'll try what you suggest. So if I understand correctly, I simulate the whole model as usual but then to implement the mirrror planes in the nf2ff function and check the patterns?

Can a PEC end cap be used at the end of a coax transmission line and have the port at the coax-PEC endcap plane, in a similar way as can be done with waveguide?
