Re: openEMS install on ubuntu 20.04 failed

Well usually Ubuntu (especially the LTS) is a solid distro and I'm puzzled why this still does not work for you. BTW. Ubuntu 20.04 is not the latest Ubuntu, but the latest LTS version... Make sure you actually use 20.04 and not 21.04 or 21.10 because I do not know if openEMS builds on these correctl...

Re: openEMS install on ubuntu 20.04 failed

I hope I have it fixed. It was another vtk version nightmare... What I really do not understand is why Ubuntu ships such ancient vtk? vtk 8.0 was release in 2017!!! Why is Ubuntu 20.04 still only shipping a 3 year old vtk version??? Well I know why I ditched Ubuntu a long time ago... regards Thorsten

Re: openEMS install on ubuntu 20.04 failed

I guess then that some of the latest updates for vtk9 must have broken the build-system for old vtk's... My problem is that I do not have any Ubuntu machine to test on. Well I guess I need to setup a VM with one... @Neil: what you can always do is transfer an already build openEMS from on Ubuntu to ...

Re: openEMS install on ubuntu 20.04 failed

Seems like you have vtk6.x installed, please try a higher version. I assume you have tried the latest git version of openEMS? I haven't checked if it all works properly on Ubuntu for quite a while. Maybe someone with Ubuntu has some inside. I guess I need to setup a testing VM with Ubuntu... regards...

Re: Undefined reference to GDALDriver::CreateCopy...'

Hi,

I have pushed a few cmake related updates that I had laying around for a while. Please give it a try.

I too use an Arch variant (Manjaro), thus I would imagine it should work for you too...

Re: Can I do such a simulation?

Thanks Muhamed for your answer, On note from my side, the "et" name in the context of AddDump really is just a name for the file and nothing more. You can name it whatever you want... If you look into "help AddDump" you get all the additional options and will notice that the electric field in time-d...
