Re: AddMSLPort Question

Sending excitation values as a list does not make sense, that are too many values. The excitation is processed inside Excitation::setupExcitation() at FDTD/excitation.cpp. You can modify the function to read a data file for a special user excitation. This is beyond the normal use case where a simple...

Re: Error when running 'setup'

I'm a little bit lost now... Ubuntu Precise comes with octave-3.2 ( http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=octave&searchon=names&suite=precise§ion=all ) If he installed octave-3.6 it must come from another repo. I thought it was our repo, but that has liboctave-dev ( http://download.opensuse...

Re: Error when running 'setup'

for octave 3.6 and newer, the mkoctfile should be inside liboctave-dev

Re: Error when running 'setup'

until I fixed our octave build, try the PPA https://launchpad.net/~mtmiller/+archive/octave. Maybe they have a workaround for the hdf5/mpi problem already applied.

Re: Error when running 'setup'

Hi,

try to install libmpich2-dev or libopenmpi-dev. Hdf5 depends on it (not sure why the package manager did not install it).

Re: accuracy of non-uniform mesh

Sorry, but you're off topic here.
Have a look at our code. Thorsten implemented the graded mesh and it works like a charm.

Best regards,

Re: accuracy of non-uniform mesh

Hi, OpenEMS should be way faster than any matlab code (even optimized ones). Therefore, if you have doubts about the accuracy of a graded mesh: don't use it. openEMS should be fast enough for a simple monopole antenna. The "accuracy" problem you face with openEMS is more likely a failure to set up t...

Re: Installation

Now if I type openEMS in command window, no matter I’m in D:\FDTD\openEMS\matlab, D:\FDTD\openEMS, or D:\FDTD, it always output “??? Undefined function or variable 'openEMS'.” Can anyone show me why I input openEMS and got “??? Undefined function or variable 'openEMS'.” As Thorsten already mentione...

Re: how excite my antenna?

Hi ghasem007, even if your surface wave does not have metallic boundaries, you can excite your structure in the same way: knowing the maximum e-field position of your mode, excite it there. 2) In your first question you said, you know FDTD... FDTD uses the Yee-Schema to solve Maxwells equations. We ...
