Re: Bug after update

I'm using 3.6.2 at work. No problems so far (beside slow startup performance).

Re: Compile without qt&vtk

A cluster installation is special in that in normally mounts the home via nfs onto all cluster nodes. Then it makes sense to have a openEMS installation encapsulated inside a folder. For all other scenarios I can imagine, I would prefer the linux package manager and our binary packages. I'm not sure...

Re: finding eigenmodes and freqs of 3D cavity

Hi,

it should also be in the normal source tarball.
Find attached the two graphs which cavity.m produces. The modes itself are not plotted.
But the script may serve as a starting point.

Re: finding eigenmodes and freqs of 3D cavity

Hi yelbo, In principle this is possible. 1. you can place PEC at arbitrary positions in space and thus, yes for PEC this is possible. PMC is currently only available as an outer boundary condition (rectangular or cylindrical mesh). It my be possible to use the material for this purpose with special ...

Re: Replacement for SmoothMeshLines

Sebastian, maybe you want to have a look at SmoothMeshLines2, it really creates huge holes in the mesh, I dunno why... I'm currently working on it. If the debug function inside the code is activated, one can see that the mesh is generated correctly up to a certain point. The problem is a naive assu...

Re: Problem using openEMS with octave

Correct, but you get productive only after everything is running smoothly ;)
We currently investigate the performance improvement you get by self compilation. It seems not that large, thus we may remove the mentioned advice.

Re: Problem using openEMS with octave

Hi Marc, Why not using our binary packages? If you recently set up a VM fpr openEMS work, take Ubuntu Precise and our precompiled binaries of octave-3.6.2. http://www.openems.de/index.php/Binaries It should work out-of-the-box. Sebastian PS: octave 3.2.4 and earlier do not fully support the private ...

Re: Simulating a plate capacitor?

Take a look at the attached file. It is modified to create the geometry by invokation of specific functions. This makes it simpler to understand. Furthermore, the different elements are now correctly shown in AppCSXCAD. You should now take a look at the unit and create the connections between the di...

Re: Simulating a plate capacitor?

Hi qrp-gaijin, To answer your questions: 1) we are working on import filters (Thorsten on STL and I on Gerber/Excellon) but they are not finished nor usable. 2) Have a look at http://openems.de/index.php/Tutorial:_Rectangular_Waveguide . The unit is set as part of the DefineRectGrid command. 3) To c...

Re: Replacement for SmoothMeshLines

Hi,

using your test case I found the bug in SmoothMesh2.m. We really should add it to our testsuite.
Are we allowed to deliver your code with openEMS under GPLv3?
