Hi, use openEMS with the parameter --showProbeDiscretization to show the snapped coordinates. If you are not experienced with Matlab, you will have a hard time learning openEMS.

Copy the example into a folder you've write permissions. Make this folder the current one in Matlab (e.g. cd into it).
Now you may run the example.

The opensuse buildservice only very recently added the Ubuntu 12.10 repository to the build system. I hope to get binaries ready for 12.10 this weekend.

What about using a ready made binary, extracting all into your home dir and setting
