RCS with changing theta

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to find the RCS of a cylinder in a way similar to the sphere example but with a changing theta instead of frequency. I've gotten the code to work (I think) but it takes a very long time to run. I was wondering if there's something I could do to speed things up or if I'm doing something stupid that's slowing things down.

Well the mesh usually is the main cause of long simulations.
A good indication is if the excitation is already requiring a large amount of time-steps and the nyquist rate is very high too.
Example for good numbers:

FDTD timestep is: 9.63258e-13 s; Nyquist rate: 173 timesteps @3.00041e+09 Hz
Excitation signal length is: 2975 timesteps (2.86569e-09s)
Using a lambda/40 mesh is of course quite dense. I would look if you can get away with something coarser for your initial trials and only do a dense mesh in a final run and only if you think you really need it.
